The penultimate day of the FIS Junior World Championships in Zakopane began with the team competition in women's ski jumping. The Slovenian team, including Jerneja Repinc Zupancic, Lara Logar, Taja Bodlaj, and Nika Prevc, achieved an unquestionable victory. The silver medals were won by the Japanese, and the podium was completed by the representatives of Germany. Polish women finished the competition in 8th place.

Eight teams entered the competition at the Średnia Krokiew, but from the very beginning, only the representatives of Austria, Germany, Japan, and Slovenia counted in the fight for medals. After three rounds of jumps, the differences between the dominant teams were not big. In the fourth round, the issue of the gold medal was practically settled. Two days ago individual world champion Nika Prevc knocked out her opponents by jumping beyond the hill size (105.5 m) and the Slovenes jumped the second Japanese by almost 40 points.

In the sixth series, after the unsuccessful jump of Sahra Schuller (73 meters), the Austrians lost the chance for a medal and only Japanese and German women remained in the game for the second place in the world. The issue of the championship was settled, and the Slovenes increased their advantage with each jump, which finally amounted to 104.5 points over Japan and 123.5 points. over Germany.

Nika Prevc: “Today I was more relaxed and I jumped better than in individual competition. We really enjoyed it as a team. Getting this medal was much more exciting than in an individual competition because all the teams showed good jumps. We showed how strong we are”.

Nagomi Nakayama: “I love Zakopane. I’m very happy”.

Pia Lilian Kuebler: “It’s a really nice moment for all of us. It was such a great fight with the Japanese. We all did a great job today and we are very satisfied. I’m also satisfied with my jumps. Yesterday it wasn’t that good, so I’m really happy that I could improve my jumps today”.

On Sunday, the last competition of the 45th FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane will be held. At. At 10:00 on the Średnia Krokiew, the first round of the team competition of mixed teams in ski jumping will begin.
