THE WIND HAS CAUSED PROBLEMS IN ZAKOPANE

AUTHOR: Sławomir Rykowski PUBLISHED AT: 14-01-2022
Friday's qualification for Sunday's individual FIS Ski Jumping World Cup competition in Zakopane has been cancelled. The very unfavourable wind conditions on Wielka Krokiew made it impossible to carry out the training series safely. Qualifications were postponed to 14.30 pm. on Sunday, and two training series are to be conducted on Saturday from 13.30 pm.

The weather forecasts announcing a very strong wind on Friday in Zakopane have been confirmed. Although the first training series was often interrupted, there seemed to be a chance of finishing it. Unfortunately, after the jump of Andreas Wellinger (47th on the starting list) the weather conditions deteriorated significantly and the jury made the only possible decision to cancel the competition.
